Las Vegas's premiere comic convention has come and gone, but boy did we have a blast! Several of our team members experienced their first convention, while other returned to the fold after a long hiatus. The team behind the Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con went above and beyond to provide an amazing experience for Nerds of all ages. The cosplay was on point. The vendors, specifically the artists, were fantastic. And of course the guests were incredible.
For me, one of my favorite parts was listening to Kevin Eastman talk about his beloved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I grew up with them in the movies, cartoons, and video games, but I never really read the comics. That is until the recently released The Last Ronin. That was a master class in storytelling and artwork. I could not believe how emotional I got reading about the adventures of Michelangelo as he sought justice for his fallen brothers. If you have not read it, I highly recommend you do.
It was also nice to reconnect with several creators I had not seen in quite some time. Although incredibly busy, I got to say a quick hello to James Tynion IV (something we have in common as I am also a James the IV), Larry Hama, and Larime Taylor to name a few.
And as I mentioned before, the cosplay, as always, was great to see. This year, I was able to watch my daughter enjoy her first convention and she insisted on cosplaying as Wednesday Addams. She had a blast getting her picture taken with all sorts of other characters.
