What are your thoughts on the first poster release for The Exorcist: Believer? See the other two posters below.
I've always felt The Exorcist franchise is one of the most underrated horror series in nerdom. Sure, everyone knows the power and fear of the original, but most don't know how good the sequels are. Sure, the second one (The Heretic) is goofy what with the hypnotizing and all that, but the third one starring George C. Scott is great. I also enjoyed both The Exorcist: The Beginning and Dominion. Needless to say, I'm curious to see what Believer brings to the table as it seems to be following the recent tread of revisiting the original source material decades later. Overall, I enjoyed the way the Halloween franchise accomplished this, although I did not like the 2018 version as much as Ends and Kills. I also enjoyed what Texas Chainsaw Massacre pulled off with their most recent release. Admittedly I might be in the minority on that. This Exorcist seems to be a bit unique though in that this new film won't erase the canon that has already be established with the previous releases. I'm especially curious to see how they pull off bringing back Chris MacNeil (played by the amazing Ellen Burstyn).
Look for The Exorcist: Believer in theaters on October 13, 2023.
