What in the Bantha poodoo is going on?!?!?!?!
My wildest dreams are coming to life before my eyes and I love it! Starting with The Clones Wars, I fell in love with Ahsoka's characters and relationship with Anakin. I am not knocking the prequels at all, but it was the animated series that best told the stories of this era and really tied episodes 1 - 3 together.
BUT, my favorite non-movie character of all time has always been Thrawn. From the moment he jumped off the pages of Heir to the Empire, I was hooked. His character proved vastly different than any others in the Star Wars universe as he had no powers, but rather used his wit and deductive reasoning to outplay almost everyone in his chess match for the galaxy. This became even more apparent after Thrawn's demise when the remnants of the Empire tried to replace the Grand Admiral with a doppelgänger named Flim. Their success was very short lived as the battle tactics could not be replicated and the charade was uncovered.
Anywho, back to the trailer. There is so much going on! We've obviously graduated way past the Clone Wars version of Ahsoka and even that of the Rebels animation. We're in new territory with familiar characters as they find themselves in new situations. I can't wait to see how this plays out and I absolutely love our first look at the live action version of Thrawn!

As a side note, if you have not read the new canon Thrawn series of books, you definitely need to check them out. The character is slightly different and more nuanced, plus they insert him into familiar Star Wars history with popular characters. I also really appreciated that we got to learn more about the Unknown Regions and the Chisss.
