DesignerCon 2024 Takes Las Vegas by Storm
DesignerCon (DCon) made its spectacular debut in Las Vegas this past weekend, at The Expo at World Market Center. Known as the premier art, design, and collectibles convention, DCon showcased an unparalleled mix of pop culture, street art, and designer toys, thrilling an estimated 70,000 attendees.
One of the highlights of the event was the unveiling of the Keith Haring x Coca-Cola BE@RBRICK figure, celebrating Haring’s iconic art style. Stephen Silver, the creator of beloved characters from Kim Possible and Danny Phantom, brought his Silver Drawing Academy Art Show to the event, featuring works from both himself and his students. There were over 700 vendors, including big names like Kidrobot, tokidoki, and Super7. We also got to catch up with some of our favorite artists like Jason Edmiston, Nakatomi Inc., Landland, N.C. Winters, Recycled Propaganda, Spoke Art and many more. It was definitely nerdvana for art!
DCon expanded beyond its traditional format by adding a Vegas twist, collaborating with AREA15's Meow Wolf and Superplastic for immersive entertainment. Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart hosted the official afterparty, providing DCon attendees discounted access to its surreal, interactive art installation. Superplastic's Dopeameme Institute for Pleasure Research also premiered, offering a sneak peek to badge holders.
Fans had the chance to participate in live launches and obtain limited-edition items through DCon’s partnership with EQL. Being a resident of Las Vegas the last 20+ years, I have watched great gallery and art shows from afar, so it was fantastic to have all this talent in our backyard and easily accessible for a deserving fanbase of nerds. From designer toys to rare fandom collectibles, there was something for everyone. DesignerCon 2024 set a high bar with its successful Las Vegas debut, blending art, culture, and unforgettable experiences.
Check out all the fun for yourself!
